There are few things more special in my work as a photographer than getting to see families return year after year, letting me capture their story as it unfolds. This lovely family from Germany has become just that for me — more than clients, they’ve become dear friends.
This was my fourth shoot with them, and it’s been such a joy to watch the kids grow up in front of my lens. What started as a holiday tradition has turned into something even more meaningful: they’ve now made Cape Town a permanent part of their lives.
This year, there was a new addition to the family — Luna, their playful rescue pup. She stole the show in the sand dunes of Hout Bay, bounding between the children and adding her own energy to the photographs.
What I adore most about this family is how easygoing and joyful they are. Each shoot feels less like work and more like time spent with good friends. Their laughter, the way they play together, and the love that radiates between them always shine through in the images.
Cape Town’s Hout Bay dunes provided the perfect backdrop — golden light, soft sand, and the ocean just beyond. It’s a location I return to often because it brings out such a natural, relaxed atmosphere for family photography sessions.
As a family photographer in Cape Town, these moments remind me why I love what I do. It’s not just about taking photos; it’s about preserving stories, celebrating connections, and creating memories that can be cherished for years to come.
